This morning, Lucy poured her own milk into her cereal bowl without us knowing and spilled it all over the counter! Then she got mad at me for putting it on the table without her help, so she tried to put it back on the counter and spilled it all over the table, chairs and floor.
She's 2 going on 12!

Life as I know it
Life as I know it has ended today. Lucy can climb IN and OUT of her crib! She will not take a nap because of this new discovery. We found her coming down the stairs with poop in her hand, yes I said poop. She pooped in her pull-up and climbed out of her bed to come tell us, when she did that I guess it fell out and she picked it up and brought it to us. Nice huh? Now she's just climbing out and playing with her toys.
I thought Daniel and EmmaLee were strong-willed children, but they have NOTHING on Lucy. I think we might have to chain her to the bed!

Random Stuff...
So, here I am with lots of things to tell you and not much time. First of all, my son the other day told me that I didn't laugh very much. Sad huh? I'm working on it. He of course is a comedian. The other morning at breakfast, EmmaLee yelled up the stairs to me that Daniel was plugging his ears and telling her that he was allergic to her voice! I laughed so hard!
Lucy the other day pushed a stool over to the ledge of the balcony and tried to get up on it. It was one of those heart wrenching moments that I had to capture on camera. Daniel was standing close by. I told her to get down and she said "NO", and I said, "if you don't get down right now, you're going to get a spanking!". She got down.
She got into my lipstick one afternoon and came in looking like this! In the next picture, she looks like the Joker from Batman!

One day when we were still at my moms, we had just been commenting on how well she had been doing at not getting into things. Well, not 30 minutes later, my mom stumbled upon this loving sight in the pantry. She thought it was a mouse! No, it was Lucy.

Daniel went ice skating last week. He did really well and by the end of the outing he could spin around a little.
Today, Lucy starts gymnastics. I'll post pictures of it tomorrow.

Mommy, Mommy, Mommy
When Lucy is upset and in her crib, she yells 'Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy' over and over and over, never giving me a chance to get to her. She's been sick this week with a cough that won't quit. EARLY Thursday morning, she was coughing and I went upstairs to check on her. She was cold so I covered her up and went back to bed. What seemed like a few minutes later (I don't know if I went back to sleep or not) she starts the screaming of my name over and over and over. I run upstairs thinking something is really wrong because it's screaming, not just calling my name. I fling open the door and she is standing in her crib. She says, "Mommy, I have a boogie." She had a booger on her finger and wanted it OFF. Needless to say, it took me a few minutes to go back to sleep after that.

Temper, Temper & a vacation
Well, I'm sorry it's been awhile. We've been really busy trying to get the house in order. It's been difficult because I really don't have a lot of time during the day between just picking up the daily mess, Lucy, and homeschooling Daniel.
Lucy has officially entered the 2 year old stage. She has a temper to go along with this stage. If she doesn't get what she wants, she SCREAMS! and can she scream! Wow, that girl has a set of lungs. We've been spanking her, putting her in a naughty chair but nothing really works. We're consistent too!!!!! She's just very stubborn. I must admit that the screaming has slowed down a bit, but now when she gets mad, she stomps upstairs and slams the door to her room! Is it not a bit early for this???
We just got home from a trip to Virginia to see my dad. We had a really good time. My dad has white hair and a white beard that he lets grow starting in July/August. He dresses up like Santa and volunteers at Andrew's Air Force Base, and goes to see newborn babies on Christmas Day at the local hospital. He also gets to ride around on a fire truck for a parade. With all that said, we've never had the kids picture taken with him. He was supposed to come down after Christmas, but we weren't back in our house yet, so they couldn't come. We went up this past week and I made sure that I got a picture.
When we got into the van from the airport, Lucy looked at Dad and said 'You look like Santa Claus'. It was so cute. She kept alternating between calling him Poppa and Santa all week. I have posted some pictures below. The picture of the kids with two older girls, are my cousins, Amy (on left) and Nicole (on right). The other group shot is of my dad (aka Poppa) and step-mom, Linda (aka Grandma).
Linda plays the piano and help teach EmmaLee a couple of songs. She says that EmmaLee is really pretty good and that we should get her lessons. So I guess EmmaLee will be starting piano lessons soon. Yea!
The kids didn't get to see snow, but it had snowed the week before so there was some icy snow still on the ground. The kids made an Ice Man with it. See picture below.
This is typical Lucy. We kept telling her that she could not have a 'chocolate sandwich' and she got tired of us telling her no, so she went and got one herself!

This is my Aunt Karrie, she's a scientist for the Navy and helps build bombs. Way cool job! Her lab is the one that built the Bunker Busters we used looking for Saddam.

Always check before going to bed....
Okay, so last night Lucy did not want to go to bed. We of course let her cry it out and she eventually fell asleep. At about 12:45 am, she woke up crying my name. I went upstairs to find her in her bed.... are you ready for this? NAKED! Apparently during her fit of anger over having to go to bed, she striped herself of her pj's and her diaper. She was crying because she had pee'd in the bed and she was wet and cold. LOVELY!
A few weeks ago, Danny was pushing her on the swings. He was pushing her pretty high for a 2 year old, but she loved it. Daniel asked Danny to give him a good shove and as he stepped to the side to push Daniel, Lucy dropped the key she was holding and reached down to get it. Of course, she turned herself upside down and wrapped her feet around the chain while still holding on with one hand. Her head even brushed the ground a couple of times before Danny could get to her. And in typical Lucy fashion, she got right back on the swing and she was never even scared!
A few weeks ago, Daniel got his 1st Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-Do. We are very proud of him. His uniform is a bit big, but he has to wear it for at least 2 years. He will test for 2nd Degree when he is 13, so this uniform needs to last at least that long.
And one final note... Cypress Taekwon-Do (where Daniel and EmmaLee train) has lost one of its family members. B.J. Farnsworth, age 25, passed away last Friday. He was loved and adored by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. BJ was one of Daniel's first instructors and he and Daniel became fast friends. Daniel even got to help Mr. Farnsworth teach the preschool classes sometimes.

Back in our house
Well, we are back in our house now. Danny and I moved in on New Year's Day and the kids joined us that weekend. We've been slowly putting things back together because when we left, we just threw stuff in boxes and now we have to figure out where stuff is and where to put it. It will take awhile.
Meanwhile, Lucy has learned how to unlock the front door, so today we had all the locks changed. We needed too anyway with all the people coming in and out of the house. And we have a lock on the pantry door that she has figured out how to unlock. She pulls a stool over to the door, climbs up and unlocks it! Not sure what I'm going to do about that.
Most of her crazy antics have stopped and we have now fully entered the 2 year old stage. Although today I found her at the sink and she had soaped up the faucet.
